The CIRAS (Combat Integrated Releasable Armor System) is a modular protective vest designed for US Special Forces by Eagle Industries. The vest features PALS webbing, making it MOLLE compatible, and there are two versions of it: “Land” and “Maritime”. The CIRAS comes with a releasable design; a pull of the cord and the armor falls apart from the operator’s body, for quick access to combat wounds for instance.

I prefer to use the goggles/soft-mask combo when it comes to face protection. I have tried several  different shapes and brands of goggles but none of them was perfect so I wanted to try one used by  military and law enforcement personnel and not because I am a “geardo” only because I hate to stop every 10 minutes to wipe the glass dry.

Let’s all agree Airsoft is indeed a sport, despite not having its superstars, multi-national corporate sponsors or fans it is still a sport. This is a non-branded and bought from Ebay for around £10, compatible with most Motorola Talkabout T – series two way radios. It comes with a throat mic, ear piece, separately wired PTT button and Motorola compatible 2.5mm plug.

In military battles, having clear lines of communications coupled with clear real time intelligence always give you the upper hand. Unit formations, terrain, weather, logistics, location, and situations are relayed among units and to their command posts. Smaller and well-trained units can wipe out bigger opponents through the effective use of communications. In conventional warfare, one of the first things attacked before a full scale force on force battle happens is communications.

Swedish uniforms are very popular among airsoft players. They have a unique camouflage pattern that is edgy but proven very effective. The Swedish army and camouflage experts experimented to get the ultimate camouflage during late 80’s, giving birth to the Swedish M90.   The green M90 comes in different types depending on which unit and in what type of terrain you are to serve in. The M90K, desert colored camouflage is the latest addition.
