Dale Comstock & Mad Max Mullen Against Zombies In "Zulu Six"

Logan

In what is called by a new Hollywood production outfit as "militainment", Zulu 7 Productions, comprised of ex-special operations forces people from the Navy  SEALs and Delta Force, the most prominent being Dale Comstock, we see  this in the "Zulu Six" trailer where former real life operators become part of the production either as actors or part of the behind the scenes production.

The "Zulu Six" trailer shows a team of highly trained soldiers coming to rescue a precious cargo, in this case a VIP accompanied by a doctor with another colleague who got infected and about to turn into a zombie and they had to kill before he becomes a threat to the team and their precious cargo. They tried to Exfil through the building while zombies try to get them and upon exiting the facility, encounter even more zombies.

I know that many of you may be tired of all these Zombie movies, products, and stories in recent years. But zombies are good business as seen in their strong performance in the box office and themed events. Even books about zombies are flying off the shelves. As for Brad Pitt's movie based on "World War Z" it's still a debate if it's a good movie or not.

Why the new term "militainment?" My best take on this is that there is a demand for real world tactics in action movies as stories try to get accurate about production details. Only experienced military people can help out and thus former operators are being sought out as consultants for action movies. The movie "Act of Valor" shows how it is done with active duty US Navy SEALs as the stars in the movie. You'll see their training in the movie and it’s different from the tactical moves of actors in other movies. But as for their acting, that's still a part that they need more training. Zero Dark Thirty is also very realistic and a US Navy SEAL was actually a consultant on that movie project.

Zulu 7 Productions can prove to former service people that they is also life in Tinseltown for veterans. With the deployments dwindling down, there will be even more stories to tell by veterans and they will be a treasure trove for writers, producers, and directors. Some may remain classified but many actions will soon be told, especially the stuff of legends. There are already movies in the pipeline, the most prominent of which is the Chris Kyle's story, "American Sniper" to be produced and starred in by Bradley Cooper and also has Steven Spielberg co-producer. This means another round of real military consultants especially snipers.

Whether shooting zombies, or doing Die Hard 100, we might just find the next big Hollywood action star to be coming from the ranks rather from acting studios.
