A Must Watch Video For Airsofters: "Airsoft vs. Reality"

Gungho Cowboy

With cool guys from AATV ending their production of humorous but educational airsoft videos during the SHOT Show 2013, we wonder if another group would try to pick up the pieces and continue where they left. Actually, we do miss SCAAR and his gang of funny airsofters who speak like Arnold Schwarzenegger. Months passed, but no one has come closest to what the AATV guys have done…

… until now.

Johny Deadline Picture Production seems to be doing what AATV had done. They were under the radar since most of their videos were in Slovak, but their latest video "Airsoft vs. Reality" is entirely done in the English Language and it is done well and with even better production.

"Airsoft vs Reality" reminds us AATV's "Ten Commandments of Airsoft" which is basically the hit video that AATV made during their internet life. Airsoft vs. Reality deals with rules of airsoft and how these rules should be observed religiously by comparing them to "reality". We as airsoft players fantasize our wargames to be based on "realism" and therefore we should follow the rules set to remind us of reality.

Sometimes we take these rules for granted or we find too trivial as we say airsoft is for fun. Perhaps there is a point in there as we always say that we should enjoy playing airsoft. But then, the ground rules say that we should treat airsoft just like the real thing that even with the fun that we can derive from shooting each other playing make believe, we are handed airsoft guns with the admonition that we should treat them like real firearms. That's the premise of realism in airsoft, and thus, from there we should also remember that we should treat rules of airsoft games just like the real thing (as long as we don't go over the top).

We are all guilty if violating any of the rules in the course of playing airsoft games, especially in using obstacles/barriers, friendly fire, and the temptation to tell your mated of the position of the OPFOR who got you. With constant game play or practice, we tend to avoid such violations, and we should always remind others of such, whether they are OPFOR or they belong to our side.

To summarize "Airsoft vs. Reality" Johny Deadine Picture Production made have been looking for that one word that describes airsoft game plays. "Honour" is the word that describes the video and probably the most abused word in airsoft vocabulary. But then, it is ideal that honour should be displayed at all times whilst playing airsoft. After all, it is honour that helps build our character to be called as airsoft players.
