Airsoft International Magazine

Back to airsoft magazines after the Holy Week. Airsoft International Magazine now has released the April 2008 issue... "Vegas Baby!! As a first time attendee to the Shot Show, to say that I was impressed would be an understatement. The show was huge, real steal parts and tac gear were oozing out of every isle, for us it was a full onslaught and sometimes overwhelming experience of the very latest Shooting extravaganza.

The Airsoft Manufacturers present were on the increase, this year G&G, ICS, Systema and the US based Echo 1 were there in full effect so too were Cyber Gun and the Crossman corporation along with our good friends at Spartan Imports leading the way in high end Airsoft wholesale, plus a whole heap of smaller manufactures, which has gotta be good for our industry. When you take a step back and take a good hard look at the Global Industry you can't help but notice how different it is, for instance we here in the UK have the VCR Act and UKARA player registration, our German neighbours cannot legally have full auto AEG's or pistols in their country, whilst our distant relatives in the US happily promote the sale of low end BB guns (Pistols and rifles) in main street Hyper stores such as Target. Our good friends at Viper were flying the flag for GB and you never know the US might be in for a real treat as I suspect they were in discussions to possibly supply there Viper Range of Tac gear to the US (watch this space for news as it happens).

The majority of exhibitors were polite and courteous and showed a huge amount of interest in Ai, but still there were the odd real world manufacture that were down right rude. A scope mount and camo manufacture springs to mind. I'm afraid these two manufactures didn't have an ounce of respect between them and I for one could not believe the arrogance that was on display, which is a great shame as both of these manufactures have a loyal fan base within the global Airsoft community and it felt like they were sticking two fingers up at us the players who have bought their kit. I'm going to put it down to these guys having a bad day at the show and hope that their respective companies employ some kind of interaction coach in the very near future after all 'manors cost nothing'.

One thing became very clear on talking to the Airsoft manufactures at the Shot Show and that was GBB Rifles seem to be the next big thing on their respective Radars. Whether that's a good idea with the British climate remains to be seen.

Take a deep breath, turn the page and dive straight in, just remember not to get carried away and come up for the odd breath every once and a while.

Airsoft International setting the standards in Airsoft publishing since 2005.
