"The AK47 / AK74 Adaptive Rail System (AKARS) is a uniquely designed and engineered scope mounting platform for Saiga rifles and AK47/AKM/AK74 rifles and their variants.

It replaces the rear sight leaf and the rifle receiver cover. While retaining the durability and ruggedness of the AK models, the AKARS provides a rock solid mounting platform for magnified optics over the receiver cover and brings it in direct competition with long recognized weapon systems known for better accuracy, such as the the M16 / M4 assault rifles. Once installed, the AKARS™ allows the user to:

1. Mount weapon optics utilizing the 1913 Picatinny Rail design (MIL-STD-1913 rail or STANAG 2324 rail, NATO) as a primary targeting solution
2. Retain the mounted optic’s targeting zero after extensive firing and field stripping of the weapon
3. Maintain the ability to use iron sights as a secondary targeting solution by way of the built-in rear sight aperture on the AKARS

AKARS Compatibility:

• The AKARS is compatible with all AK47 / AKM / AK74 rifle variants with standard length Russian pattern receiver covers.

The AKARS is NOT compatible with the following AK variants:

• Yugo (Zastava) AK variants (M70, M72, M92)
• AKS-74U and variants with a hinged receiver cover
• Romanian PSL sniper rifles"
