In recent years, our military personnel have added body armor and other components worn on their person during missions. This has resulted in increased difficulty to find the natural shoulder pocket, between the torso and arm, which is used to steady the butt stock of the rifle when assuming a firing position. The presence of the ASP substantially reduces the time it takes to steady the rifle's butt stock from a carrying position to a firing position, resulting in repeatable and precise firing positions time and time again. The ASP system also significantly reduces the felt weight of the shooter's weapon, resulting in a more stable, lighter, and more agile weapons system.
