Postal Ban On Replica Firearms In Finland

OptimusPrime

Finnish airsoft player, Pertti Könkhänpoika, sends us an update regarding shipping of replica firearms, including airsoft to Finland as the "Finnish state-owned postal company, Itella, decided to ban all parcels that contains replica guns, toy guns, items that are compared to gun parts, items that resemble in any way a gun and of course, airsoft guns.

The funny part in this, Paintball markers aren't in the ban list, so you can send paintball guns as much as you can.

The Finnish postal law doesn't prohibit any of those items mentioned above, this policy is just a part of Itellas new line of 'security' rules."

We also looked around for further info on this, and even accessories for Playstation or Nintendo Wii that are shaped like firearms are also part of the ban. The ban took effect last 01 January 2012, though all is not lost for Finnish airsoft customers, they can instruct the sellers to ship the items through private companies such as FedEx, UPS, etc...

Thanks to Pertti for this update.
