Op: Tommy Gun 2 Fundraising Event For MSK Cancer Centers

OptimusPrime

What we love about  the folks from NYC Airsoft and Moondog Industries is their unrelenting commitment to conduct airsoft events that would benefit those who have been fighting some of the hardest battles in the world. By this, we mean about those who are fighting the diseases that are hard to treat and those who are at the frontlines doing the treatment or conducting research that such diseases would pose lesser problems to people in the future.

In this case, Shogun Mitsukai of NYC Airsoft is spearheading Op. Tommy Gun 2 which will take place on the 25th of May 2014 at the Zulu 24 Airsoft Tactical Park in Rock Tavern, New York.  The beneficiary of this event are the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Treatment Centers.

The first Op. Tommy Gun event was held to benefit Tommy Lukowski in 2012 who was at that time battling leukemia and bone cancer. Ever since he received his stem cell transplant, he has been cancer free. Though it was not yet the end of treatment for him as he still has to undergo reconstructive surgery in the area of his arm where the tumor was removed where there is now parts of his leg and hip bones are placed and held together by a metal rod. He is an airsoft player and serves as inspiration to airsoft players in the area, and also serves as a volunteer for the East Brunswick Fire District 1 is his health allows for it. He works even whilst in pain and he goes to school full time.

Op. Tommy Gun 2's proceeds will go to the MSK Cancer Treatment Centers for their efforts at cancer treatment and research, being on the top cancer centres in the USA. Many of us know someone who has survived or succumbed to cancer and we know that this airsoft fundraising event is something that we would support.

Tommy Lukowski will be the Guest of Honour for the event and the event will be comprised by a 4-hour non-stop game scenario and a room clearing course to be led by a Tactical Instructor. For the game scenario, here is the background story:

An explosive device has been hidden on a undisclosed public location to cause mass panic & cripple commerce effecting millions of Americans. A clandestine Special Forces team has been tasked with the capture of an HVT from the terror organization, "The Darkest Hour". They must eliminate his guards (NPCs) and sway him, by any means, into releasing the code to a transponder. The team must then disarm the transponder to cancel the detonation of the device.

As a secondary objective, the operators must find a blueprint of the device, hidden in a lock box. They will be supplied with bolt cutters to open & retrieve these documents. These blueprints will provide important intel on disarming the device if the team is unable to retrieve the code from the HVT.
