"Tommy Gun" Airsoft Fundraising Charity Event

OptimusPrime

It's time again for us to devote a page when the airsoft community rallies together to help someone. Moondog Industries, NYC Airsoft, and their other airsoft friends have been doing these for years when they hold events that are always for a good cause, rather than looking into it as a means for profit. Their latest fundraising airsoft event is for a player who has leukemia and bone cancer. Tommy Lukowski, who is still at such a very young age of 23 is suffering from such combination and needs the help of everyone who can for him to get treatment.

When he is good health, Tommy never fails to volunteer, as he is right now for the East Brunswick Fire District 1. His father died in 2007 and his health problems began appearing a few months after. He has already been undergoing treatment, but the problems are still far from over, suffering from infections as his the prosthetic elbow that replaced his elbow that was removed due to his rare form of bone cancer has been rejected by his body.

With such problems, he is unable to return to work, which also means that he will not be able to pay for his full treatment on his own. Many have turned out to help, but still he needs more as he will need to undergo surgery for his new prosthetic elbow, which means still  even more bills to pay. This airsoft fundraising event is one of the efforts by those who know him to do whatever they can to help out.

"Tommy Gun" is the name of the airsoft fundraising event, which is scheduled to be held on the 18th of August 2012 at Shooters Paintball/Airsoft and also known as Firebase X-Ray often used by FilForce. The game fee is $40.00 and 100% of the proceeds will be given for the treatment costs.

Evike.com donated an airsoft Tommy Gun as a raffle prize for the event. Participants get a complimentary raffle ticket to have a chance of winning the airsoft gun. Interested participants can also join in a MOUT instruction course with Phridum, who is a former USMC scount/sniper.

More details can be read at NYCAirsoft. Since the event was announced last Friday, 03 August, that gives the organisers less than two weeks to gather as many participants for this fundraising event. If you want to help out, you can spread the word around, especially if you're from New York, New Jersey, and other surrounding areas. But in case you cannot attend due to some circumstances, such as being located from somewhere far, then you can contact Moondog on how you can help. Though the best really is to send in a monetary donation, as it will be immediately devoted to the medical fees that Tommy will have to pay to undergo the procedure and post operation recovery.
