Train To Survive The Apocalypse With Z.E.R.T. On Nat Geo

Gungho Cowboy

If you are an airsofter and haven't heard about the Z.E.R.T. or the Zombie Eradication Response Team, then perhaps it's time for you to know about them since you may think of the group as something related to airsoft zombies, which is not. Z.E.R.T. is relatively young organisation which is comprised of people prepared for any eventuality. You might be wondering why the use of the Zombie word for their organisation's name, it's more of a metaphor for any disaster or calamities that happen on this planet.

With over 6,000 members from many parts of the world since it was founded in 2011, Z.E.R.T. memebrs always gather together to train for any eventuality. If you are thinking of preppers or survivalists, then you are right, as they are students of survivalism, ready to respond or bug-out in case there's a collapse in the social, economic, and political order caused by natural or man-made catastrophes.

They have their bug-out bags, which contain all the essential tools for them to survive. They train to fight with their hands, use weapons available, and eat anything close to edible in the environments they are in. Being a member of the Z.E.R.T. is like being with the "Big Boys (and Girls) Scouts", and you get trained by those who have been in the field and survived against the odds. The founders of Z.E.R.T. are actually special operations veterans, and that means they have learned most of the tools of the trade to survive.

Now, they have teamed up with National Geographic. The core of the Z.E.R.T.'s cadres will be training civilian families on how to prepare, train, and survive an emergency. So, if you have nothing to do on Sunday, the 20th of July 2014, " Z.E.R.T.'s Surviving The Apocalypse" will be airing by 11pm ET. For others, especially outside of the U.S., they can check their local Nat Geo channels if they are going to air this in your locality.

You might be able to learn a thing or two on being a prepper with the show. But if you want to learn more, you might want to join Z.E.R.T. so you can attend their training sessions. Whilst it may sound like these are boot camps, Z.E.R.T. training can be taken at your own pace and time and the Tier 1 operators who train you want you to have fun. It won't hurt to be always prepared for any eventuality, and as they always say in the scouting movement "BE PREPARED".
