Another Airsoft Wish: DTA Stealth Recon Scout Sniper Rifle

Logan

It's now October, and soon enough it's gonna be Christmas again. This means it's time for me to dream of what Santa can give in my Christmas wishlist, and as always, it's about airsoft. I have written about some exciting real steel guns and conversion kits that can be made for airsoft, and even sniper rifles that can be fabricated for our needs. What I need right now is another bullpup sniper rifle, in the tradition of the AMP-DSR1 that Ares Airsoft had made before.

A Pair of Goggles for Operators to Ogle

Gungho Cowboy

Who says hi-tech goggles with head mounted displays are made for just video games or fighter jet pilots? For us land-stuck folks, we can have their cake and eat it too with this gorgeously made Transcend GPS Alpine Goggles from Recon Zeal. The first time I saw this online, it made me think, why just for snowboarders, skiers, and other speed freaks? It has many potential applications especially for airsoft and military judging from the video of present features and future applications to be included.

AK Makeover

Dom

I only have one problem with AK type weapons: lack of configurable options. Now LCT Airsoft has released two kits and these kits might changed my opinion about AKs. I know that not it's not LCT Airsoft the only manufacurer offering rails for AK but I really like and highly recommend their solution.

Put that iPod Nano to good Airsoft use

Gungho Cowboy

That is, if your iPod Nano is the 5th generation one which has a video camera included. Being the most popular MP3 player in the world, the iPod is ubiquitous, and with the Nano 5th Generation, you can take videos of your friends in action. If you cannot afford to buy a dedicated helmet camera to capture those airsoft moments, then for just an additional US$35 (US$34.99 to be exact), you can use the iPod Nano 5th Generation as a helmet camera.

A Suit that Iron Man would approve

Logan

Tony Stark doesn't yet have to feel insecure about this Raytheon project as his Iron Man suit is much sexier and more powerful than this. This one can only carry heavy objects while Iron Man can fly and has repulsor and unibeams to blast the bad guys. But then, Iron Man is for Comicon, while the Raytheon XOS 2 is for the US Military.

Congratulations are in order for the Thumpmaster6, who has been diligently labouring on his blog, Thumpy's 3-D House of Airsoft. He has been covering some of the news that even the bigger airsoft websites and publications have failed to report. And the way he writes about airsoft developments, it's with passion, excitement, and even glee like a 12-year old. It's actually infectious as his site shows abundance of energy.

Interesting reading, this article published at Scientific American, regarding airsoft games, and other make-believe war games. The author tried playing in an airsoft game just to see if the theory can be proven.

Please release the Magpul Personal Defense Rifle (PDR) for Airsoft

Logan

Do you still remember the Magpul Personal Defense Rifle (PDR)? What we know about this is that it just went into the concept stage but never got into production. Thus, it's one of the concept guns that has great potential but not really taken to the next level. The concept is really great in my opinion, and if it does not get into actual real steel production, then why not release the design for airsoft manufacturers to work on? That way, that gun still lives on.
