Facebook Community Help Coronavirus

As airsofters, we think of ourselves as guys who are able to respond in times of trouble through some make believe airsoft game scenarios. In the real world, we also try to respond by volunteering such as in cases natural disasters, accidents and even helping raise funds for those in need. Now that we are in the midst of a pandemic, we’ll have to respond to one of the biggest challenges the world has faced since World War II.

We have already made an appeal for protective gear to help the frontliners deal with Covid-19 and many have responded. Now, we also need to respond to people who are unable to help themselves such as senior citizens who are unable to go out, single parent families who can’t do groceries since they can’t leave the children, vulnerable people with underlying health conditions, and those who are self-isolating since they are exhibiting symptoms of Covid-19 infections.

If you are up to it, you can use Facebook Community Help, which has been updated to so you can find people in your area to help. In their Coronavirus news, the company posted about this update to inform what you can do with this feature:

Today we’re announcing Community Help, a place for people to request or offer help to neighbors, such as volunteering to deliver groceries or donating to a local food pantry or fundraiser. You can access Community Help in the COVID-19 Information Center on Facebook or by visiting facebook.com/covidsupport. We’re starting to roll it out in the US, the UK, France, Australia and Canada in the next few days, and we’re working to bring it to more countries in the coming weeks.

As mentioned in the post, you can also request for help if you are unable to go out due to the same reasons as mentioned above. These days, many people are in the spirit of helping so chances are, someone will respond to your request.

With a great number of us in the airsoft community on Facebook, we can share the link to the Facebook Community Help so that each airsofter can look up and respond to requests for help in their areas. The more that we use this app, the increase the chances of those who near us be able to pull through the pandemic.
