GBRS released last week their new Modular Chest Rig (M.C.R.), a low-profile, minimalist tactical gear designed with the latest advancements in tactical engineering. Masterfully adaptable, this rig is meticulously crafted with bridges, "I" joints, and "W" joints, empowering users to create custom setups with ease. From operators to enthusiasts to professionals, this rig is for all.

The M.C.R. offers two distinct versions: HVY (Heavy) and LTE (Light). Regardless of weapon preference, the rig provides a rock-solid foundation for your gear. It features reinforced mounting points constructed from 8-Layer Tegris, ensuring durability even in the most demanding situations.

Engineered to be lightweight and flexible, the M.C.R. integrates B52 and Squadron Laminate. This ensures users maintain agility while keeping essential items within arm’s reach. It is not just a piece of gear; it is a precision-engineered system crafted with the user’s demands in mind.

GBRS says the M.C.R. is more than just a piece of gear; it is an embodiment of adaptability and that it is built for those who demand the absolute best from their equipment. The modular design and adaptable joints allow users to easily switch between pouches, holsters, and accessories to meet their changing needs.

The M.C.R. LTE and M.C.R. HVY are two distinct models, each with their own set of components.

The M.C.R. LTE includes the following items: an LTE Chest Plate, two Shoulder Straps, a Backplate, a Lower Back Strap, four “I” Joints, four “W” Joints, and four each of ITW 1” GTSR Latch Ladderloc (Male), ITW 1” GTSR Body Split Bar (Female), and ITW Tri-glide. It is compatible with all standard molly weave Velcro, button, and tab pouches.

The M.C.R. HVY comes with a HVY Chest Plate, two Shoulder Straps, a Backplate, a Lower Back Strap, four “I” Joints, four “W” Joints, and four each of ITW 1” GTSR Latch Ladderloc (Male), ITW 1” GTSR Body Split Bar (Female), and ITW Tri-glide. It is designed to fit wider larger calibre (308, 7.62) type molly weave pouches.

Both models are made from the same materials. The Chest Plate for both the LTE & HVY models is made from Squadron 500/1000 Laminate, 8-Layer Tegris (Thermoplastic), ITW 1” GTSR Latch Loop, and MILSPEC 0 Grommet/ Washer. The Shoulder Straps are made from Squadron 500/1000 Laminate, 8-Layer Tegris (Thermoplastic), ITW QASM (Buckle Female), ITW Tri-glide, and MILSPEC 0 Grommet/Washer.

The Back Plate is constructed from Squadron 500/1000 Laminate, 8-Layer Tegris (Thermoplastic), ITW 1” GTSR Latch Ladderloc (Male), ITW 1” GTSR Body Split Bar (Female), ITW Tri-glide, and MILSPEC 0 Grommet/Washer. The Lower Back Strap is made from Squadron 500/1000 Laminate, 8-Layer Tegris (Thermoplastic), ITW 1” GTSR Latch Ladderloc (Male), ITW 1” GTSR Body Split Bar (Female), ITW Tri-glide, and MILSPEC 0 Grommet/Washer.

The “I” Joints are made from B52 500/500 Laminate, 8-Layer Tegris (Thermoplastic), and MILSPEC 0 Grommet/Washer. The “W” Joints are also made from B52 500/500 Laminate, 8-Layer Tegris (Thermoplastic), and MILSPEC 0 Grommet/Washer.

The MCR is now available to order at the GBRS official website and there are two colour options, Multicam and Black. As for the pouches, they are to be purchased separately.
