Gunwerks has recently unveiled "The Accountant," a discreet rifle system designed for those who require precision and portability. This integrally suppressed, compact firearm can be discreetly carried in a locking leather briefcase, allowing users to maintain a low profile while remaining prepared for any situation.
The name "The Accountant" likely draws inspiration from the gripping thriller film of the same name. In the movie, Christian Wolff, portrayed by Ben Affleck, is an accountant with autism who specializes in uncovering financial discrepancies for the criminal underworld. His unique abilities, honed through a childhood marked by a military father, include proficiency in firearms and hand-to-hand combat. A sequel to the film is currently in development.
The Accountant is a complete rifle system discreetly housed in a briefcase, comprising a .308 Win Federal Custom Shop Ammo (100 rounds), a JTAC chassis with a collapsible stock, a Leupold Mark 5HD 2-10x30mm scope, a 17.5" stainless steel machined barrel with a titanium suppressor, and two five-round magazines.

The Accountant boasts a sleek and compact design, thanks to its collapsing stock which measures only 3 inches at its widest point. This allows the entire system to fit snugly within a 17.5" x 12.75" x 3" case, weighing a mere 9.5 lbs. When paired with the Leupold Mark 5HD 2-10x30mm scope, the rifle delivers precise shooting up to 500 yards. Exclusive touches like the Skunkwerks logo on the chassis and windage cover highlight this limited Gunwerks build.

The Accountant's portability is further enhanced by La Rue 35mm detachable rings, permitting swift scope removal (though unnecessary for briefcase transport). The JTAC chassis complements the design with its slim profile and effortless extension, contributing to the rifle's overall streamlined form and functionality.
The 17.5" barrel undergoes intricate machining from a full-diameter piece of 416R stainless steel. A meticulously cut 6" baffle stack manages gasses, and the titanium sleeve directs these gases internally along the barrel's entire length. This process effectively suppresses noise levels to approximately 140 dB.

Gunwerks selected the .308 Win cartridge for optimal performance, considering the rifle's effective barrel length of just 11.5". In collaboration with the Federal Custom Shop, they developed a custom round tailored specifically to The Accountant. This load maximizes velocity and downrange performance, utilizing a 175-grain Terminal Ascent bullet.
The Gunwerks The Accountant Rifle System, priced at $13,500, is a complete package including a Leupold Mark 5HD scope, LaRue rings, 100 rounds of Federal Custom Shop ammunition, and a custom leather case. It is available in both right and left-handed configurations. So, customers are getting the full package rather than just the rifle itself.
