Philippine Election Gun Ban Advisory

OptimusPrime

A heads up for airsoft players and firearms enthusiasts in the Philippines. On Thursday, the 22 of January 2014, the election period for the Sanggunaiang Kabatan (Youth Council) will take effect until the 2nd of March 2015. This means that the election gun ban will take place. Airsoft players and airgun owners are still confused if airsoft guns and airguns are still included in the election gun ban since they have been removed from the "firerams" classification with RA 10591 (unless used in a crime). As we have written before, the Philippine airsoft community will have to have a dialogue with the Commission On Elections (COMELEC) to clarify matters.

For airsoft players, in the absence of any clarification from COMELEC, can resort to what they have been doing before RA 10591. What we know is that they can play airsoft at their airsoft sites provided that they already have their airsoft guns stored there during the gun ban period.
