BCM Gunfighter's Grip For The 21st Century Shooter

Gungho Cowboy

Evolution is always done in increments over long periods of time, rather than quick developments, and whilst it's a slow development, the incremental changes over time will often produce a more refined product rather than some explosive changes which will always be haphazard and even ill-developed. Just look at ourselves, the Homo Sapiens species just didn't come out overnight, and our look right now is said to have started 200,000 years ago. If you don't agree with that, then turn yourself into an amoeba.

Even technologies are also products of evolutionary development, and military technology is part of it. In firearms development simple things such as triggers, sights, barrels, and stocks, were developed over the centuries to what we know them as of now. Weapons handling also changes over time, and rifle grips develop together with how weapons are handled.

Bravo Company Manufacturing (BCM) recognised that weapons handling have changed in the 21st Century, with more use of body armor and a healthy concern over recoil management. If you notice the firing stances nowadays, they are now more frontal, exposing the body a little bit more, though arms are more tucked to present a small target profile and the shoulders squared to help in recoil management. Previously, rifle handling had the body bladed, which means, to present a smaller target profile, the shooting stance is sideways, with minimal concern to recoil management. The newer shooting stance also is designed with optics, sights, and weapons accessories and body armor is there to help protect the shooter whilst having a more stable and effective shooting profile leading to better survivability.

Haley Strategic Partners was the consulting company for BGM in the development of the Gunfighter's Grip to make full use of the "squared up" shooting stance. According to Travis Haley the armor plate is brought to full use against the threat and protecting the unarmored such as the underarm bullet penetration in those areas can be fatal. In airsoft, using the bladed stance, being hit in that areas is one of the most uncomfortable thing to happen to you during a game (but will lead you to call your hit immediately).

Because of numerous changes in the dynamics of the current fighting techniques we now virtually square off with the bad guy when engaging the target.  The Gun Fighter's Grip by BCM allows for a reduced angle and improved ergonomics when shooting in the modern gun fighting stances.

This partnership between Haley Strategic and BCM produced the Gunfighter's Grip which is available in two configurations:

...The MOD 0 features a slim design, similar in size to the A1 and A2 pistol grips, while the MOD 1 features a high rise back strap. Every BCM GFG comes with two Modular Trigger Guard Inserts that close the gap between the trigger guard and the pistol grip, with one version extended and one smooth, giving further customization options to the end user. Available in Flack Dark Earth, Black and Foliage Green; the grips also feature water resistant rubber gasket hinged trap doors with internal storage for batteries or other small items.

To learn more about the BCM Gunfighter's Grip, you can visit the Bravo Company Manufacturing website. This may fit airsoft gas blowback M4 rifles so if you want to get one, these are already available at the Bravo Company USA website and cost US$29.95 from a list price of US$35.00.
