Clint Eastwood Recruits Navy SEALs for "American Sniper" Movie

Logan

Now for some update on the planned movie on the life of the late Chris Kyle, the American Sniper. Last year, Clint Eastwood agreed to be the director after Steven Spielberg backed out of the project. Slated to start filming this month, American Sniper is produced by Bradley Cooper's production company, 22nd & Indiana, and Cooper will also star as Chris Kyle.

More and more stars have been signed up for the American Sniper such as  Sienna Miller, Kyle Gallner, Jake McDorman, Luke Grimes and Cory Hardrict.  They will be joining Navid Negahban, Eric Close , Eric Ladin and Rey Gallegos.

But what is significant here is that Eastwood have recruited some Navy SEALs to participate in the movie though I doubt if active members would be allowed to join given the recent headaches the Pentagon had with certain members trying to cash in on the death of Bin Laden via book deals. The last movie that active Navy SEAL members was Act of Valor, a US$12 million dollar movie that grossed over US$80 million worldwide.

Confirmed Navy SEAL who has joined the movie is Kevin “Dauber” Lacz, Chris Kyle's friend. Sienna Miller will be playing Kyle's wife, Taya.

Given that Clint Eastwood is a fast working director, many are expecting this movie to be released either late this year or early 2015. The movie will be based on Kyle's autobiography, American Sniper, which was adapted for screenplay by Jason Hall.
