The U.S. Marine Corps have battle tested the M27 Infantry Automatic Rifle (IAR) in Afghanistan and intend to purchase more of these to eventually replace the M249 LMGs that are in service in the Corps. There have been discussions that the M27 IAR, whilst based on the HK416D, is much more different from the latter.

One video posted at the Firearms Blog is circulating slowly in the internets and this has gotten my attention as we always are on the lookout for awful gun handling practices, and stressing on gun safety, We'll repeat it again, and again, and again. and again, and again: treat your airsoft gun like a real firearm. This one is for the books and reminds me of a Looney Tunes cartoon episode .

The Gadget Show aired the "Ultimate Battlefield 3 Simulator" last Monday night. The Birmingham, UK-based television show which has a great number of followers is well known for its challenges to its hosts to test, review, and even build their own gadgets, and giving surprising results. But this simulator they built takes the cake.

Call me lazy if you want, but I won't care. I've been tasked by our ever watchful slave driver to write the feature story for today. Nothing interesting so far in the airsoft front, as the good stories have been already posted in the past days, nothing left for me to write about, even crumbs. So sometimes, just sitting and watching YouTube videos, monitoring tweets, checking the Popular Airsoft Facebook page, and staring at the email inbox, something would just come in and would let my type away with gusto.

One of the significant stories in airsoft for this year is Crosman Corporation's winning of the U.S. Marine Corps license to brand their airsoft products with the name of their respected organization. They're first U.S. military organization to have officially allowed a company to use their name for airsoft purposes. With the launch of Marines Airsoft, Crosman unveils a list of airsoft products and gear bearing the USMC brand.

In the build-up for the release of Battlefield 3 Video Game which will be on the 25th of October (U.S. release), EA came up with a webseries of videos having involving some NFL stars: Quarterback Drew Brees, Linebacker Clay Matthews, Wide Receiver Larry Fitzgerald, and Defensive End Jared Allen as a team that will be trained to conduct combat scenarios that take inspiration from Battlefield 3.

Whilst Battlefield 3 fans are awaiting the arrival of the game on the 25th of October, The Gadget Show embarked on a project that will be just give them the ultimate dream gaming machine: a Battlefield 3 FPS 360-degree Simulator that doesn't just make you shoot and hit your enemies in the game, you will feel pain when they shoot back and you get hit.

This is something to be welcomed by airsoft players in the UK who think the 328fps limits is just too low. Many airsoft field skirmish sites have been allowing a deviance of up to 350fps for full auto airsoft guns, and 500fps for single action ones. CQB sites still strictly enforce the 328fps/1joule limit. It is also  a clarificatio  for airsoft retailers, especially for the members of UKARA.

The legendary US Navy SEALs have been depicted in movies, too many of them to count. While all these movies reinforce the legend, nothing that is closest to the real US Navy SEAL has been done...until now. This time a movie has been produced about the group's missions based on a fictional story, but the actors are real US Navy SEALs, the tactics and weapons are also real. "Act of Valor" is the first movie that has active US Navy SEAL members acting it out.

This may just come in handy when the cold weather sets in, and with eventual release of the biggest video first person shooter game titles this Fall may fix a good number of us to our coaches, adrenalin levels high as we take aim at our television screens for the next enemy to blow to kingdom come. What more would you do, but at least be a couch commando in style? Ditch the jammies, go for the cargo trousers from Betabrand made for the armchair tactical shooter in you.
