Halo TV Series Gets Pablo Schreiber To Play The Master Chief Role

For Halo fans who have been waiting for years for the live action Halo TV series to be, the wheels are moving faster this time. Announced almost 8 years ago, the project faced scheduling issues with Rupert Wyatt stepping down as director an executive producer last year and replaced by Otto Bathurst in February 2019.

Halo, based on the popular video game originally by Bungie games and now by Xbox Game Studios and 343 Industries, is set in the 26th Century in which the United Nations Space Command are faced against the Covenant, an alliance of aliens hell bent for the destruction of Earth. For the TV series, which is set to start production this Fall, will need the main character role of Master Chief, to be filled up.

They finally found their latest recruit for the role and it is Pablo Schreiber. The Canadian-American actor is known for his roles as Nickolas "Nick" Sobotka in “The Wire” and as Mad Sweeney in “American Gods” on Amazon Prime Videos. He also played the role of "Tanto" Paronto in the film “13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi” and as Ray Merrimen in “Den of Thieves.”

Joining him will be Yerin Ha who will be playing as Quan Ah and they are still looking for actors to fill the role Dr. Halsey who created the Cortana AI assistance and Jenny who was involved during the Halo-Covenant war.

If everything goes according to plan, the show will air in Showtime premium cable network. The cable network will be main backer of the series with Spielbergs Amblin Entertainment is also involved in production. Whilst there is no definite premiere date for the show it is seen to air in 2020 and may just coincide with release of the planned of the Halo Infinity though nothing is definite yet.
