I Want One Of These: An Airsoft Firing Mecha Bot!

OptimusPrime

This is one of my childhood fantasy dreams: being a pilot of a Mecha. If you remember Mazinger Z, Daimos, Voltes V, and of course the Gundam series, then I bet that you want to ride a real world Mecha. But the wait is over as here comes "Kuratas" our dreams have come true, and we can actually use this for airsoft games as it fires airsoft BBs and PET water bottles to obliterate the enemies with you smiling in the cockpit.

Just revealed over the weekend, the whole techworld went agog over this creation of Suidobashi Heavy Industries. It is a 13-foot, 4.5-ton robot which can be piloted inside the cockpit or remotely via its own remote control system or via a smart phone, in this case, an iPhone is used to pilot the robot. It runs on wheels, so that's a little disappointment rather than on two robot legs, and it's diesel-powered. In the video it can go traverse streets without smashing parked cars and vans.

But here's what will get the whole airsoft world excited: it's Airsoft ready with its two airsoft gatling guns on its left hand that can fire 6,000 rounds per minute and most probably based on the Craft Apple Works (CAW) mini-gun. It also has a rocket launcher, called the LOHAS, which it can fire PET water bottles to make it even more fun. Now here's the thing about firing, the Kuratas can lock-on a target and to fire, you need to smile but not overdoing it. With its targeting system, just fire smile away.

I can already imagine using Kuratas for airsoft MOUT/Urban Games where it will work best. You can use it assault stubborn defenses. It may sound unfair for the OPFOR, but rules can be set to allow methods of "eliminating" the Kuratas.

Now, you will ask, how much it would cost me to get one.  Well, that's the big problem, to build one for you, you have to outlay US$1,353,500 big bucks to get one for you. That price seems not to include all the assortment of weapons available for the Kuratas. This is where you wish that an ACM company would enter, though in all honesty, I'd rather have them keep their hands off it. Just the safety issues would not want me to imagine an ACM version of this.

Oh well, this will remain a fantasy unless I have Bill Gates or Warren Buffet as sponsors. But who knows some Silicon Valley billionaires might want to have one these and have Mecha Wars? They may just do so, just like the way they created Segway Polo. The Kuratas price is nothing for them. I hope my lottery ticket helps me get one of these.
