KRISS Vector Gen 3

The KRISS Vector Gen 3 is the latest version of the innovative pistol-caliber carbine that features a unique design and a recoil reduction system. It was revealed at the 2024 SHOT Show by KRISS USA and aims to improve on the previous generation while keeping its main advantages and adding new functionalities for more users.

One of the main changes is the modularity. The Gen 3 has a replaceable AR-15 pistol grip, which lets users customize and personalize it to their liking. It also has a Picatinny rail on the back, which allows for more options for attaching braces, stocks, and other accessories. It is suitable for both right- and left-handed shooters with a reversible magazine release and ambidextrous controls.

Another improvement is the weight and ergonomics. The Gen 3 is lighter and more agile than its predecessor, making it easier to handle and maneuver. The new stock has an adjustable length of pull and can be folded on either side, increasing comfort and convenience.

The performance is also enhanced with a new, shorter trigger pull that gives a sharper feel and better accuracy. The Gen 3 keeps the distinctive Super V recoil system, which directs recoil energy downward, reducing felt recoil and muzzle rise. This enables quicker follow-up shots and more control during rapid fire.

The compatibility is also better. The Gen 3 uses Glock magazines directly, removing the need for specific magazines, which was a common issue with the previous generation. This makes it more flexible and economical for users who already have Glock pistols.

The aesthetics are not ignored. The Gen 3 preserves the characteristic Vector look but with smoother lines and a more contemporary feel. It comes in various colors and finishes, appealing to different tastes.

The price and availability information is not yet clear, but early signs suggest the Gen 3 will have a competitive price compared to other high-end pistol-caliber carbines. The official launch date is not yet known, but it is expected to be available sometime in 2024.

The KRISS Vector Gen 3 is a major upgrade of the platform. It solves many of the problems raised by users while providing new features and enhancements that cater to a broader audience. It remains to be seen if it can match the expectations and become the new benchmark for pistol-caliber carbines, but the Gen 3 is definitely a move in the right direction.

Here is a video from the Firearms Guide taken from the KRISS USA booth during the SHOT Show 2024:

As for an airsoft version, with KRISS USA having its own airsoft division, the popular Krytac, we should be expecting one given that that there are already official AEG and Gas Blowback editions. As to when Krytac will release a Gen 3 for the airsoft market, there is no information if one is already in the works.
