Packy's Rifle Will Have An Airsoft Electric Blowback & Recoil Version Soon

Gungho Cowboy

One the rarest rifles in the market, which of course probably would also mean they are off the market is the Knight's Armament Company SR-47 which is part of the AR family rifles but is the only one that can take in AK Magazines and fire 7.62mm rounds due to requirements of special operations troops in Operation Enduring Freedom. It's also the rarest airsoft gun in the airsoft market and one can only have one if one can find the Hurricane SR-47 kit which is also expensive to buy and you still need to assemble it.

The SR-47 is actually made famous not by any action movie, but by a Japanese animated series called "Cat Shit One" which has a fan base in the airsoft community. The main assaulter, Packy, used the SR-47 in the first episode of the series whilst Botasky served as sniper overwatch.

We've been wanting to own one SR-47 airsoft version and as mentioned above, it's rare to own one or even find a second hand version.

But not for long.

The Taiwanese airsoft manufacturer, BOLT Airsoft, will be releasing their BR-47/SR-47 which will also have the new and improved BRSS (Blowback Recoil Shock System), as their offering very soon. Making us excited that we actually want to have very soon. The BRSS competes against Tokyo Marui's New Gen Recoil Shock and KWA's ERG (Electric Recoil Gun). TAF have announced the news about the BR-47 as posted at their Facebook Page.

The new generation BRSS is getting raves in reviews especially in the USA, where some say it is the hard kicking blowback and recoil AEG in the market giving more realism than the offerings of  Tokyo Marui and KWA.

The BR-47 will be able to take regular Marui-compatible AEG magazines and thus you can use whatever AK AEG magazine you have lying around, and not having to worry about purchasing an AK AEG magazine that may not be compatible with other AK AEGs.

Basing on the photos uploaded by TAF, the BR-47 does not have markings, which is alright for us as we do not want the brand of an airsoft manufacturer etched on the receiver. The surface of the barrel is specially treated with the metal externals in forged steel. If our translation is correct the LMT-style buttstock is also a battery compartment, allowing you install cranestock batteries in their rather than using railed hanguard to insert a battery inside or use an dummy PEQ battery box. It also features an ambidextrous fire selector swtich.

There are two things achieved by BOLT Airsoft with their BR-47 BRSS AEG. The first one is that they are releasing a full and complete SR-47 AEG which is much preferred rather than purchasing a kit such as the Hurricane SR-47 kit. The second one is that they are the first company to offer an airsoft SR-47 with electric blowback and recoil with the BOLT Airsoft BRSS. And just those two things will endear the company to airsoft players.

We haven't tried any BOLT Airsoft BRSS AEG ever since the B4A1 came out and compare it to its competitors. But one thing's for sure, I'm excited about this release and Optimus Prime wants to a review of this AEG.

Those interested in purchasing one can place their orders with Bunny Workshop or contact TAF. Pricing will be US$457.99 in Hong Kong. BOLT Airsoft are offering for the BR-47 to Taiwan players only at a special offer price of US$420 or around TW$12,300.00.
