A-TACS Camo Gets The Foliage Green Version

Gungho Cowboy

The A-TACS camo pattern got a sizeable following since its release and in the airsoft community, a growing number of players have been getting their own A-TACS loadout. Some of us had held back getting the pattern, as we have preferred something that is more appropriate for woodland or temperate environments, as the existing A-TACS pattern is more appropriate for urban/MOUT settings. In such settings, we would rather go in civvies for airsoft games.

Surprisingly, we were not alone with this opinion. A good number of custmers have requested Digital Concealment Systems (DCS), the company behind A-TACS, to create a variant of the pattern that has features the green colour. DCS did not just immediately release a green variant using the existing pattern, but studied first the characteristics of the temperate or greener settings before coming out with the new colour variant.

The result is an entirely new pattern, the the A-TACS FG Camo, thus saying that this variant is the same as the original A-ATACS and just given the green treatment would be incorrect as explained by DCS below:

"After over a year of development and input of countless tactical professionals, we are proud to introduce A-TACS FG (Foliage/Green) Camo. Utilizing numerous shades of green sampled directly from a variety of forested and transitional terrain elements combined with various shades of earth, A-TACS FG Camo was developed to be effective in a wide range of temperate environments. As with the original A-TACS AU (Arid/Urban) Camo pattern, the organic pixels in the micro patterns are grouped into larger, more defined 'macro' shapes creating larger more defined patterns. The larger organic shapes and strategically placed shadow elements within the macro pattern help to create a unique three-dimensional effect never before seen in a tactical concealment system."

Most of the photos below are show the new A-TACS FG camo pattern in various gear made by different tactical gear makers that have licensed the pattern for their products such as Propper International, TAG, Blue Force Gear, BCS, and Danner.

If you're planning to buy the A-TACS pattern but really want a green variant, now you can purchase such. I for one, would want the full loadoout for Christmas.
