Take My Money And Make An Airsoft Version Of This Quick!

OptimusPrime

We have already written about this product that will be revealed by Silver Shadow during the Eurosatory in Paris which is ongoing right now. Finally, we get to have the full model name being the Gilboa Snake Double Barrel Rifle (DBR).  And I think many would agree with me that if an airsoft version will be made, a line of pre-orders will quickly form up.

This is the ultimate double tap assault rifle with its 9.5 inch double barrels where two rounds can be fired off simultaneously with a single trigger mechanism. If the purpose of a double tap is to ensure that the target stays down, this approach with the Gilboa Snake will do its purpose quicker than existing rifles that have a two-round or three-round burst as you can immediately switch to other targets than wait to see your rounds impact one round after the other. The Gilboa Snake's simultaneous 2-round fire, if done accurately, delivers more firepower in one trigger pull in a smaller grouping. Just imagine it going into full auto.

The secret of the Gilboa Snake is the proprietary one trigger mechanism operating a bolt carrier that synchs the firing of two bolts ensuring that both rounds are fired at almost the same time with a fraction of a second separating the first round from the other. The rifle fires 5.56x45mm calibre rounds and weighs 9.41 pounds without the magazine. Since this is a double-barreled AR, it has a wider receiver and handguard system which comes with Picatinny rails to mount optics and other accessories.

Since it's a wider system, for those with smaller hands, an ergonomic handrip comes along with the package to handle it.

Perhaps I am just excited about this weapon for use in Airsoft since it's a very unique and innovative rifle. Silver Shadow itself has built a reputation of building some of the toughest ARs for the harshest conditions. Might as well an airsoft company that is well known for durability and reliability of its products get the licence.

If an AEG or GBB versions are made, there will be more moving parts and it's important that the internals be built with the best quality materials that can be put into it. I would expect the price of this to be in the high-end since it's almost like buying two airsoft guns in one. Most likely, if this will be an AEG, there will be twin motors just to run the gearbox (or dual gearbox if that's what it'll come to). I would love to bring this to CQB games.

If you think it's not feasible to build an airsoft version of this, then I will have to remind you that a custom double barrel AEG has been made before by a Korean called the "Twin Hunter" as shown in the video below:

So if any airsoft company think that they're up to making one, they can take my money anytime.
