Important Update On The EU Firearms Law

Matt Furey-King sends us an update on the European Airsoft Association's lobbying efforts to prevent airsoft to be classified as firearms and it's positive news but they also appeal to continue the pressure as the proposed amendment will need to be approved first... "As you should be aware, since November last year the EU has been considering a proposal to amend the firearms directive which would classify replicas, including airsoft devices, as real firearms. They also wanted to ban any firearm of ‘military appearance’.

Furey-King Steps Down As EAA President

Matt Furey-King posts at the European Airsoft Association (EAA) Facebook Page that he is stepping down as president of the EAA. Joachim Dekkers of NABV will be taking over as president and with the backing of one of the best organised airsoft associations in the world, will lead the EAA to prevent measures that will stop the growth airsoft and help other associations in the region to grow and prosper.

EEA: Halt The EU Attack On Airsoft!

It's really urgent the airsoft players, airsoft communities, and airsoft associations all over the European Union start moving to give their feedback/opposition on the proposal of the European Commission to reclassify replicas, airsoft guns included, as Category C weapons requiring owners to register their airsoft guns or face penalties.

Matt sends in news about the new logo for the EAA which shows more of the EU colour as shown in the image above... "I’m proud to announce that the European Airsoft Association steering committee has selected a winner for our logo competition! The winning design came from Jeremy Hammond, a UK milsim player and team leader who plays at many sites around the Midlands and beyond.
