Wired.com Raw File: Can You Spot The Snipers?

Logan

Now, for a bit of fun for you guys after all the day to day reports by Optimus Prime and Dom of the IWA & Outdoor Classics 2014. In a recent story at the Raw File Section of Wired.com, they feature photos taken by Simon Menner of landscapes. If he didn't mention about them, you wouldn't be looking for them when you look at the photos, right? I mean, German Snipers.

In the interview with Menner, he did this project to put out a  message that the "main threats these days are out of sight, just like snipers." Indeed, that's a more menacing version of the popular phrase "Out of sight. Out of Mind." The lesson of course is to be vigilant in our surroundings, whether physical or and now more prevalent, digital where criminal and government organizations try to follow your movements, actions, and history without you knowing about it.

He started the project in 2010 with full support of the German Army which for them can also be a PR project. Some of the subjects in the photos are trainees and the rest are veteran snipers who just arrived from their tours of duties in Afghanistan.

These photos will make you a bit paranoid, as you might just start looking for snipers in every nook and cranny when walking in the woods or the countryside. But it can also be good real world "Where's Waldo" exercise, trying to spot snipers can be fun, as long as they don't shoot you.

Here are two more photos for you to spot the snipers. Answers and more photos at Wired.com:
