Gun Gamers: Why Parts Support Matters

When buying an airsoft gun, the smart buyers usually go for companies that support their products with parts availability or have a good ecosystem of third party parts makers that support their products as well. The Gun Gamers use the case of the Elite Force M9 to emphasize on the need for after-sales support... "In this video, Kyle discusses his experience with the Elite Force M9 CO2 blowback airsoft pistol.  Kyle's experience with this particular handgun was a catastrophic failure over the course of three games, but spread out long enough that it was outside of the manufacturer's warranty.  To be fair, Kyle did not reach out to Elite Force directly because it was outside of warranty.  Maybe contacting Elite Force directly could have helped resolve this issue, but the fact the Elite Force M9 is a proprietary system without aftermarket parts support or full OEM parts kits available from retailers makes fixing potential issues much more of a process.  Even a parts diagram would have made things significantly easier.  At what point does a consumer decide to cut their losses on a process and opt for a different product?

I've praised Elite Force in the past and in other videos for having full rebuild kits for things like the 1911 Tactical.  That said, the oversight of truly full parts support for the M9 created a very negative experience for Kyle, and thus I think it makes for a compelling case study on why parts support matters.  We try to be 100% honest in all of our videos and sometimes that means giving a bad review.  Sorry Elite Force!  Hopefully our feedback can be useful. - Eric"
