For the Airsoft YouTuber who is more dependent on smartphone cameras than ever before, thanks to newer models with more capable 4K video capture and third party tools to provide stabilization and more, can look into the new Surefire FirePak Smartphone Illuminator & Powerbank for his/her lighting needs. Apart from being a video light and powerbank it is also a very useful everyday tool that you want in your bag.

It is the first time that Surefire has unveiled a lighting solution specifically targeted to the mobile market. What it carries to this market is a brand that is trusted by first responders, military and outdoors people and has some of the most powerful and military-grade illumination tools in the market today. If an Airsoft YouTuber wants a video light to use for covering airsoft events and doing related reviews and news, then the SureFire FirePak will be up on his/her list. For OptimusPrime, this is what he wants to get from SureFire this year.

What makes the SureFire FirePak a very much capable portable video light is that it uses two high-performance LEDs whose light output is shaped by two specially designed reflectors that it can provide wide illumination for video cameras at 16:9 aspect ratio. Most of High definition to 4K videos that are posted online are produced at this aspect ratio and the SureFire FirePak can provide up to 1,500 lumens using 4 output and an effective range of 50 feet.

With that powerful illumination it can be used as a light source for anything you do at home, in the street, on the road, and at the campsite. Apart from being a lighting solution, it can also be used as a Powerbank, able to charge smartphones depending on the model (there was no mention of battery capacity) with its Lithium-Ion battery with the USB port and also charge it via the Micro-USB port.

Since it can work with smartphones, Surefire has released an app to work with it, allowing you to control the lighting output via Bluetooth. With such remote control, you can decrease or increase the output of the FirePak from a distance. You can monitor its battery level with the battery level indicator light, a feature that is already standard in powerbanks.

Now with its integrated rails, you can also attach the SureFire FirePak to your smartphone with Surefire Phone Case. Unfortunately, it is only limited to certain models such as the iPhone 6/6s and the Samsung Galaxy S5 so if your smartphone is not in this very short list, you will have to carry it separately with your other hand when doing illumination or have an assistant hold it for you during a video or photo shoot.

The SureFire FirePak is now available in the USA and you can order one from the SureFire website for US$299.00. If you want the Surefire Phone Case with the FirePak, then prepare to shell out an additional US$29.99.
