Mikhail Kalashnikov Dies At The Age of 94

Renowned designer rifle designer, Mikhail Kalashnikov, to whom the AK-47 rifle he designed was named after him, after a lingering health problems had given up the ghost at the age of 94. Kalashnikov suffered from heart and intestinal problems prior to his death according to Russia Today. Kalashnikov is one of the great names from the 20th Century whose design has affected the course of human history. The AK-47 is the most recognised and used rifle in history.
The AK-47 may have been the most destructive tool in mankind as it was used for liberation or oppression, but it still is a tool. He never regretted designing the AK-47 since it was made for the defence of the Motherland. But in some occasions, he would have preferred inventing something useful and not destructive.
