"MEU Pistol is a customized M1911 Pistol made for the US Marine Corps' Marine Expeditionary Units and became the standard-issue side arm since 1985. As customized from M1911 pistol, MEU used the M1911A1 Lower frame as basis and replaced with the following upgrade parts to make Browning's design ready for the 21st century combat.

Slide: Purchased from commercial market.
Barrel: Replaced with a match grade barrel for more accuracy.
Safety: Replaced with an ambi-type thumb safety and a beavertail grip safety.
Sights: Replaced with a custom type battle sights.
Trigger: Replaced with an adjustable trigger which appear in match type 1911 pistol.
Hammer: Replaced with a light-weight D-type hammer.
Grip: Replaced with a new-style hand grip with rubber surface.
Lower frame: Replaced with a straight-type hammer spring housing with a sling holder.
Others: Replaced with a Stainless Steel made magazine (7 rounds) or 8 round magazine with rubber base.
