The much awaited gas blowback M249 by VFC, the first of its kind, is checked by Jeff The Kid. VFC says that it combines realism and practicality. It has a lightweight aluminum alloy body and a 100-round magazine, as well as an independent air and ammo system for gaming. It features a realistic bolt carrier, a quick-disassembly barrel, a bullet shake system, and a no ammo firing switch. It can also use different air supply modules.

There is a high anticipation for the release of the M249 Gas Blowback LMG which VFC is developing and Evike.com got their hands on a prototype for them to review. This is the world’s first practical GBB machine gun, made of lightweight aluminum and featuring an open bolt simulation and a high performance aluminum bolt carrier. A big presence by VFC at the IWA Outdoor Classics 2023 as they got good foot traffic from trade visitors even if their H&K airsoft products are at the Umarex booth in Hall 7A. One of the stars of the show during the Taiwan MOA Exhibition 2022 was the VFC M249 Gas Blowback Rifle. If VFC gets to mass produce this soon for the airsoft market, it will officially be the first M249 GBB LMG, unless A&K decides to change its mind and finally releases its own version which it first revealed years ago. This has rigid fixation of the stem in the chamber with the ability to use standard rubber and rollers. Adjusting the hop-up is smooth and it's made of aluminium. They recommend using Prometherus elastic rubber with it.
