Ever wanted to handle an AR that feels like an MP5? We sure do and there is indeed an AR pistol that looks like an MP5. Quarter Circle 10 (QC10) has been making 9mm AR receivers that can take in MP5 magazines, but before the SHOT Show 2022, they announced the YKMF-5 PCC AR pistol which at first glance, looks like an MP5.
The YKMF-5 is a direct blowback AR that comes with a machined aluminum handguard that is similar to the MP5 and most probably have been inspired by it. It comes with a 5.5" QC10 barrel, Bowden Tactical handguard, Dead Air Muzzle Brake, SB Tactical PDW stock and Phase 5 ambidextrous controls.
According to the company, they built the YKMF-5 specifically focused on the MP5 9x19mm magazine while featuring the QC10 adjustable buffer system. At the business end, it has Dead Air Silencers Micro Brake and the stock is an SB Tactical PDW Brace. As for the receiver, the lower is a Milled Billet 7075-T6 and a Side Charging Upper Receiver.
The YKMF-5 does not come with its own sights, allowing the owner to choose the optics or sights to mount on the top upper rail. MP5-style sight sets can be mounted on it just go for red dot sights. But most probably owners can go for a more MP5 look.
QC10 says it is now being distributed to their dealer network and interested customers can get one for $1,775.00. Now, if someone from the airsoft industry can take an interest in making one, it’ll be something that we want to look forward to.
