Armed Self-Defense Debate

Interesting article at the Examiner.com, Paul Valone gives a critique of the ABC's 20/20 "If I Only Had a Gun" claiming that this show was "rigged" to tone down calls for people to be allowed concealed firearms, especially with the growing gun violence happening in the USA in the past weeks and months. Paul Valone is a 2nd Amendment supporter ("Right to Bear Arms" in the US Constitution) and advices on gun rights supporters through GRNC. The show is purportedly said to discourage gun ownership for untrained civilians and leave the armed defense to trained people such as those from law enforcement agencies (SWAT, HRT, etc.).

Cleverly aimed at undermining growing calls for arming concealed handgun permit-holders in schools and other allegedly “gun free” zones which attract active killers, Friday’s hit piece on ABC’s “20/20,” entitled “If I only had a gun,” claimed to demonstrate that mere citizens are incapable of preventing mass murders like Virginia Tech. What “20/20” avoided mentioning, however, is that the personality characteristics of active killers actually make them more vulnerable to armed intervention than common criminals.
Read on the story by clicking on the screenshot below. Whether you agree or not, take time to seeing on both sides of the story. While we may be good at playing airsoft games, there are real world scenarios that what we know in airsoft may not be applicable, unless we have gone through some formal training of sorts and have actual real steel experience of developing shooting and tactical skills. One of the subjects in the 20/20 show was an "Airsoft Champ" which we don't know what they actually mean by that.
