Safariland recently announced the release of the new Gravity OWB Holster that represents an expansion of the company’s product offerings in the outside-the-waistband (OWB) category. This model, made for everyday use, integrates a lightweight structure with a focus on secure firearm retention. The construction of the Gravity holster uses Safarilaminate, a proprietary material that has the durability and capacity to maintain a streamlined form factor.

The Gravity holster features a Cordura-wrapped exterior. This textile covering is offered in a selection of eight colours and camouflage patterns, providing an element of personalization for users. The integration of Cordura, a fabric known for its resistance to abrasions and tears, aligns with the industry trend of incorporating robust external finishes that also allow for aesthetic variation. The holster is secured by the 568BL injection-moulded paddle to facilitate stable and comfortable wear over extended periods, and it is a common attachment method for OWB holsters.

The design of the Gravity holster incorporates features that enable user customization of firearm presentation and retention. These include adjustable tension mechanisms and a variable carry angle cant. Such adjustability is a standard expectation in contemporary holster designs, allowing individuals to fine-tune their equipment to personal preferences and operational requirements. Furthermore, the holster features Safariland’s 3-hole pattern mount, a standardized interface that permits adaptation to various carry configurations beyond the default paddle attachment.

Compatibility with a range of popular handgun models is a key consideration in the Gravity holster's design. It can accommodate firearms from manufacturers such as Glock, Springfield Armory, Shadow Systems, Taurus, Wilson, and Sig Sauer. With an optics-cut version, it addresses the increasing prevalence of red dot sights on pistols, reflecting an adaptation to current firearm accessory trends.

Currently, the Gravity holster is produced exclusively in a right-hand configuration. Its manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) is positioned at $65, making it competitive in the OWB holster market.
