Before you wonder why Paintball players would rather shoot an unarmed and expensive quadcopter which is there to record their paintball action as compared to airsoft players who would put out their best tactical moves in a game and show how things are done in the battlefield and actually do not shoot at drones (unless ordered to in their mission objectives), Parrot has released their AR Drone 2 Elite Edition recently.
We have posted about the AR.Drone before as a potential UAV for use in airsoft games. Now Parrot has announced that they will start selling the AR.Drone in the US and is priced at US$299.00. Not a bad price at all since apart from using it skirmishes, you can use it also in parks where you can have a video of of people walking around. Don't be a peeping tom with it though. We hope it gets released in Europe first, but I guess the Americans are lucky this time.
