Wilson Combat 45th Anniversary CQB Handgun

If there is a handgun that we urgently want to be replicated in airsoft, it will be limited edition Wilson Combat 45th Anniversary CQB. There is no denying that we are 1911 fans here at Popular Airsoft, especially the classic 1911 look so if this gets replicated in airsoft, this is something we would immediately throw money at just to own it.

The Wilson Combat 45th Anniversary CQB celebrates 45 years of gunsmithing by the company since its founding in 1977. The company has build a reputation at building some of the finest M1911A custom pistols and over the years have expanded to other types of handguns, AR-15s, shotguns, ammo, and even knives.

In airsoft we see Wilson Combat pistols available with best ones being made by Western Arms. The licensed ones are from SOCOM Gear and Army Armament makes the R27 GBB pistol, which is probably an unlicensed Wilson Combat M1911A1 and it comes with full trades.

Being a retro-style 1911 pistol, the Wilson Combat 45th Anniversary CQB got full-size carbon steel Frame with polished sides of frame and the Wilson Combat Deluxe Blue Finish, 30 LPI Checkered Frontstrap, contoured mag well, Retro Bullet Proof Beavertail Grip Safety, and Retro Commander Hammer. Other features are the Bullet Proof® mag release; Desert Ironwood, beveled bottom Grips; Bo-Mar Style rear Sight with black serrated front sight, full-length Guide Rod; 5” Stainless Match Grade Barrel and Bushing, Hand Fit; rear forward angled cocking serrations; and course slide top serrations.

A good collector’s item, the 45th Anniversary CQB is now on pre-order and available in .45ACP which is priced at US$4,000 and the 9mm at US$4,100. More details as announced by Wilson Combat can be read right below the video:

To commemorate Wilson Combat’s 45th Anniversary of gunsmithing, we are bringing back a classic “retro” style that built the foundation of our business back in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Custom 1911 handguns of that period were rapidly evolving based on the needs of practical pistol shooters and Wilson Combat emerged as a leader in 1911 handgun customization by focusing on performing superior quality work at a fair price with a reasonable delivery time-those core values still drive our business today.

The 45th Anniversary 1911 handguns that we are building are very limited in nature and truly exceptional in cosmetics and quality. We have chosen to revert back to some of the classic custom touches we were known for like an upswept, retro grip safety, traditional Bo-Mar style adjustable rear sight with a staked ramp front, a retro Commander style hammer, Swenson-style ambidextrous thumb safety, and a coarsely serrated slide top reminiscent of the finest bespoke guns available to shooters at the time.

This custom 45th Anniversary model will dress out in a fully hand-polished deluxe blue finish with handcrafted, premium desert ironwood grips featuring a smooth finish that shows off its amazing grain and markings and logos will harken back to our early models, albeit with more modern cosmetics.

Timeless style combined with limited production and impeccable quality ensure the Wilson Combat 45th Anniversary edition will be an instant collectible and highly sought after for generations to come.
