The Aussies Want You To Sign Their Petition

OptimusPrime

The Australian Airsoft Council (AAC) leadership are working hard for the legalisation of airsoft in the country. As of last week, they informed us that there are signs that the first allowances for the sport is for some range activities, not yet actual skirmish games and it covers both pistols and rifles or just one. But it's a good sign, and they will push harder for more activities.

As such, they are inviting Australians interested in airsoft to sign their petition to: Hon Liza Harvey MLA, Hon Peter Chandler MLA, Hon Jo-Ann Miller MP, Hon Troy Grant MP, Hon Wade Noonan MP, Hon Joy Burch MLA, Hon Rene Hidding MP, Hon Tony Piccolo MP. Also any Ministers that may take on the Police portfolio for their State, including the Shadow Ministers.

They are also inviting airsoft players outside of Australia to sign the petition to show to the government that there is international support for the hobby.

"Airsoft, as a sport, was unheard of at the time of the 1996 National Firearms Agreement, but is still allowable. Generally, it is played in a similar fashion to Paintball, the objective being to 'tag' opposition players. There are also other disciplines of Airsoft including IPSC & 3 gun type competitions. Due to the non lethality of the sport, there is no reason why it shouldn't be available to players/ competitors in Australia. As the leading Airsoft group in Australia, we at the Australian Airsoft Council request that all Police Ministers consider the health, social & economic benefits of this sport & allow it under their individual state legislation. Further information on this sport is available by emailing- [email protected]."

Click here to sign the petition and they ask you to share via Facebook,Twitter, and other social media. You can also follow the AAC on Facebook.
