5.11's Tactical Duty Kilt Is Back Again As The Limited Edition Commando Kilt

Gungho Cowboy

5.11 Commando Kilt

What was once an April Fool’s joke in 2012  turned out to be a successful product for 5.11 Tactical. The company released a video they called the 5.11 Tactical Duty Kilt just for kicks but then it created a demand all by itself that they decided to release a limited edition. For Popular Airsoft readers who can’t recall the original video, here it is again:

Over the years since its first release, customer demand compelled 5.11 Tactical to do a limited release with the last version being the Upholder Kilt. But every time they announce the Kilt to be available, they do it on April Fools Day and here are the videos released to announce it’s coming again:

For this year, they announce the new Limited Edition Commando Kilt though we are not sure if they are going to release an April 1 video to herald its release. It is available only in Multicam:

For those who want other colours apart from Multicam, then they can purchase the Limited Edition Upholder Kilt which is still available to order and colour options are Black and Ranger Green. But if you need other colours, check with authorized 5.11 sellers if they still have the Tactical Duty Kilt as it has Stone and Burnt colour options apart from Multicam, Black and Ranger Green.

Now, for the often asked question if wearers of the Tactical Kilt go commando underneath, whilst it is a tradition, the Scottish Tartans Authority want people to wear underwear and has decreed that refusing to do so is "childish and unhygienic". But of course, to each his own when wearing the tactical kilt.

The Limited Edition 5.11 Commando Kilt can now be ordered at the 5.11 Tactical online store for US$89.99.
