(Advisory: We are taking an Easter Break. There will be no news updates on Good Friday and Black Saturday. We’ll be resuming on Easter Sunday)
The desire of the airsoft community to help out in the efforts to mitigate the spread of the Covid-19 virus continues is as fervent as ever. Whilst we appeal to the airsofters to donate what they usually have, their eyepro, other groups have taken upon themselves to come up with a more organised response to meet the needs of the healthcare workers for Personal Protection (PPEs), eye protection included.
One that is working hard to get eyepro to the frontlines by giving what they have available and then started raising funds to get more pairs, Basingstoke-based Airsoft Anoymous have been conducting a “EyePro For Frontliners Healthcare Workers” Campaign and have already sent the donations to different healthcare facilities:
OVER 500 PAIRS DONATED IN ADDITION TO OUR 50 - THANK YOU!
The type of eye pro we use for airsoft is needed by our healthcare workers & many are desperate for help. We're not just talking about hospitals, we are being contacted by GP surgeries, community care services and numerous other care facilities. They're all desperate for help and more keep contacting us daily.
Airsoft Anonymous are buying 50 sets of CE EN166 rated eye protection to distribute to hospitals/GP surgeries/care facilities and any others in need during this crisis. Thousands more sets are needed.
If you would like to contribute so that we can purchase additional sets, you can do so here. A lot of the eye pro currently available in stock costs less than £5 PER PAIR, so even small donations will help.
Thank you for your support & a huge thank you to all of our front line healthcare workers.
We will keep you updated on how your support is helping through social media.
According to Jenni Wares, Airsoft Anonymous Director, the demand for PPEs is vast and she finds it heartbreaking to find frontline healthcare workers not having adequate protection to safely carry out their jobs. She said that they are trying to getting face shields from a well-known eyewear maker that also makes eyepro used by airsofters, but the Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ) is 1000 units so they are raising funds to meet the MOQ via their website.
You can support the efforts of Airsoft Anonymous by donating whatever amount you can and if you have spare eyepro, please do donate it to those who need it most. As airsofters, eyepro is the immediate thing that we can contribute as we all have a pair or two. Being able to donate such can help save the lives of the frontliners who can then continue saving more lives.
