Part 2 of the Tokyo Marui MAR-FES Online concluded the whole online event for the Japanese airsoft company as they reveal their offerings in 2020 and upcoming products. The MAR-FES Online is the next best thing for us to learn about their new products given that they were unable to at the expected trade events that we cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

If you notice the focus of the company in their product reveals is they have put a significant effort in developing airsoft gas guns with the revelation of the upcoming and recently released non-blowback and gas blowback pistols and we that we should expect more gas blowback rifle as they expand from AR-style gas blowbacks to the Kalashnikov-style ones first seen in the AKM.

We know that many of you are hoping for either an MP5 NGRS or an MP5 GBB given that these are making a comeback in airsoft, for now we can settle with the revelations.

As expected from us, for those who cannot follow the Japanese-language presentations which were done very competently by Deca and Irodori Mayoi who make a very fine duo in making presentations, we got the product details for these new products:

TOKYO MARUI AKM GAS BLOWBACK RIFLE

Series: Gas Blowback Machinegun

WILL THERE BE MORE PRODUCTS TO BE REVEALED LATER THIS YEAR?

We are not sure. So far, the presentations at the MAR-FES Online basically cover, as far as we are concerned, two events --- the Shizuoka Hobby Show and the All Japan Model and Hobby Show both of which are cancelled for the year. But there is another event wherein Tokyo Marui reveal their flagship products and that is at the Tokyo Marui Festival that usually takes place in November. We asked them if they are going to have one schedule for the year, but they have not confirmed it yet. With the exception of the surprise AK Storm NGRS, we are looking forward to another NGRS reveal this year. If it is going to be an MP5 NGRS, we don’t know, but we are getting enquiries if we got information about this from our non-Japanese readers.

Two gas blowback rifles to save up for later this year and these will be in the Christmas shopping lists of airsoft players --- the AKM and MK18 Mod.1. We just hope that the pandemic is over before that so that we all work harder to earn enough to get these.
