“Busting makes us feel good!” Who can forget this line for those who enjoyed the 1980s cultural fun? It’s a decade full of memorable movies that are even getting a reboot or still having their prequels and sequel until now. But that line of course belongs to “Ghostbusters” song that accompanied the hit “Ghostbusters” movie starring Bill Murray, Dan Akroyd, Harold Ramis and Ernie Hudson.

The “Ghostbusters” got a reboot in 2016 with “Ghostbusters: Answer The Call”, with an all female cast that that turned out to be polarizing for fans of the series. Whilst it was good movie, it turned out into a box office bomb, with losses of about US$150 million for Columbia Pictures that it decided to have a new project using the original Ghostbusters series. The original cast appeared in cameo roles even after Bill Murray said that he won’t appear in a new Ghostbusters movie since the death of Harold Ramis in 2014 who was Egon the movie.

The continuation movie, which is tentatively called “Ghostbusters 2020” instead of “Ghostbusters III” will have the Mckenna Grace, Finn Wolfhard, Carrie Coon, Paul Rudd, Logan Kim, and Celeste O'Connor. What will make diehard fans of the original “Ghostbusters” is that the original cast will be reprising their roles rather than appear in cameo roles.

This was confirmed by Dan Akroyd, who played as Ray Stantz, in The Gregg Hill Show, that he and Bill Muray, who played as Peter Venkman, will be appearing in the new movie, saying that “a beautiful, heartfelt script that takes the real DNA from the first two movies and transfers that directly to the third, the next generation. It hands the legacy off to a new generation of stars, and players, and actors, and characters.”

Ernie Hudson, Sigourney Weaver and Annie Potts will be joining them to do their original roles as well. He also said that this new movie will be a tribute to Harold Ramis. This movie is being directed by Jason Reitman, the son of the original “Ghostbusters” director, Ivan Reitman, and he also wrote the script with Gil Kenan.

Release date for “Ghostbusters 2020” is said to be on the 10th of July 2020. We wonder if they are still going to use the original theme song by Ray Parker. It will be a travesty if the won’t.

As for a Ghostbusters Proton Pack for airsoft, Nerdgamer from the Philippines actually made one.
