“Release the Kraken!” That line became famous ever since Liam Neeson uttered in the 2010 reboot of the “Clash of the Titans” and has been so used in a lot of ways and has even airsofters calling themselves “Kraken”. It never wears off that even a watchmaker and flashlight company teamed up to come up with a product they call “The Kraken.”

Both Singaporean companies, Nitecore is already an established name in the airsoft market with its line of flashlights that have been reviewed by airsoft influencers. BOLDR may not be a familiar one as compared to Luminox, Garmin, Suunto, Casio, and host other tactical watches favoured by airsoft players, but it is a watchmaker that manufacturers durable and functional timepieces.

The Kraken is a special limited edition watch that is derived from BOLDR’s Venture line of watches. It is equipped with the brilliant Old-Radium C3 Glow that illuminates the hour and seconds of the watch in the dark after soaking up the sun.

Using the Japan SII NH35A Automatic Movement, it is housed in a 38mm titanium case with a 12 hours 60 clicks bi-directional titanium bezel with aluminium insert. It has a 4 o'clock screw-down crown with custom embossed BOLDR logo, custom-texture terrain black dial, orange hour-hand, and minute-hand with Japan Superlume. As for the strap, it is a NATO strap with custom titanium buckles.

The Nitecore portion of The Kraken package is the Nitecore TIKI torch, a rechargeable mini torch that you can use to boost the luminosity of watch so it can remain readable in the dark. Made of durable GITD polycarbonate and stainless steel construction, it has a UV 1000 mW maximum output and total runtime of 2 hours before it needs to be recharged. It also has two special modes: warning flashing & reading lamp.
