Capture Yourself In Airsoft Action In 3rd Person View

Gungho Cowboy

Without the need for a third person to hold the camera and follow you around whilst you get all the fun and that person doesn't get to pull the airsoft gun trigger. We have been writing about helmet cams for a long time now in Popular Airsoft and usually these give you a first person view of the action, handsfree.

How about you using that camcorder, helmet/action camera, or video DSLR taking footage of yourself without the need for an extra hand? In this case, what you need is an extra pole and mount for the camera t be focusing on you.

The "3rd Person View" Action Camera Mount is an improvement of the camera poles that people are using nowadays to take photos or videos of themselves. But what this new camera mount does is to give you a hands-free video taking of you in action, in whatever extreme sport you're in, airsoft included.

What this camera mount had as a vast improvement is the curved switch backplate that is worn on the body. The backplate is where you mount the camera pole, allowing you to do extreme action hands-free. You can adjust the system to take footages of you at different angles, whether from the back, the side, and front.

The usual way that airsoft players take footages themselves in 3rd person view are using camera mounts for the picatinny rails systems and having the camera mounted on the rifle in a reverse manner --- the camera lens pointed at the player. However constant rifle shifts and hand movements also lead to a lot of unstabilised video clips or too quick panning shots. With the "3rd Person View" Action Camera Mount, you minimise such issue.

This product is not yet ready for sale, being a Kickstarter Project of Sail Video System's Eric Vonk. The good thing is that the target pledge has already been exceeded and the owner is just waiting for the fund pledging period to end before production can full go at full speed. It's just matter of having the first batch of finished projects to be available for retail sales.

One concern about this system for airsoft use is that the pole might get entangled whilst in woodland games where branches and bushes stand as obstacles. Perhaps some adjustment that will allow you to avoid such issues can be done and in CQB games, this will be a lot better.

You've been wondering who can take videos of you playing airsoft since everybody wants to be part of the action. With this camera mount, your worries are over and everybody gets to have airsoft fun.
