With “The Mandalorian” still in production for release in 2022, Disney+ and Lucasfilm are producing spin-off series with Ashoka and the more anticipated release of “The Book of Bobba Fett” which is set to be released on the 29th of December. They also released the key artwork for the series, or perhaps you might want to call it the official poster as shown below:
Temuera Morrison will be playing the role of Boba Fett and he is joined by Ming-Na Wen as Fennec Shand, an elite mercenary and assassin as shown in “The Mandalorian”. Morrison first appeared as Jango Fett, in “Attack of the Clone” in 2002. He then went to voice Boba Fett in the 2004 re-release of The Empire Strikes Back. Boba Fett is the adopted son of Jango Fett. Boba Fett was played by Jeremy Bulloch and voiced by Jason Wingreen in the original “Star Wars” trilogy.
The pairing-up of Boba Fettt and Ming-na Wen was first revealed in Season 2 Episode 7 of “The Mandalorian” where, together with Dune, they help Din Djarin which is the real name of the Mandalorian or “Mando” and eventually rescue Grogu in the final episode of the season. They then Fett traveled to Tatooine where Fett kills Bib Fortuna.
“The Book of Boba Fett” resumes the story left off from the Season 2 of “The Mandalorian. The story goes as the pair of mercenaries return to Tatooine and where they will lay claim to the former territory that was ruled by the crime syndicate of Jabba The Hut, who Boba Fett served until he was killed in "Return of the Jedi".
Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni, Robert Rodriguez, Kathleen Kennedy, and Colin Wilson are the executive producers. Karen Gilchrist and Carrie Beck serve as co-executive producers, with John Bartnicki producing and John Hampian as co-producer.
Disney+ is the streaming service of Disney. A subscription is required in order to watch the shows and movies available.
