I remember some “Tom Clancy’s The Division” players chatting that if they included zombies, the game would be more awesome to play. It looks like they are going to get what they are asking for but it’s not going to be from Ubisoft but rather from Russian developer Fntastic (it’s really spelled like that) and publisher Mytona as they announce their MMO game “The Day Before” last week.

Just like “The Division” and “The Last of Us”, “The Day Before” is set in post-Apocalyptic America which is ravaged by a virus that turns the infected to be flesh eating creatures which thankfully is not happening amidst the Covid-19 pandemic (some are actually disappointed with this). The player in this third person shooter MMO has to survive scavenging through structures and vehicles to find resources and weapons to use and trade and at the same time help resurrect society again by finding a colony of survivors to work and trade with.

Players will immediately face other players in a PvP whilst scrounging for resources but also try eliminating the infected/zombies that are after their bodies to feed on.

Whilst playing, a heads-up display shows three indicators that the player must always check: temperature, energy, and thirst since being low in these indicators will mean a lower chance of surviving in the game and thus the level should always be normal in order to fight it out and explore the open post-apocalyptic world.

It is always best to team up with a group of players, but be always on the lookout as some of the survivors are not friendly and may just jump you. Thus, the survivalist and the zombies are equally dangerous with the difference is that zombies are obviously bad whilst you will have to use your online instincts to trust or a survivalist or not.

As the game is currently in development so no release date have been announced yet, but “The Day Before” will be available on Steam where it is now already listed.
