European Airsoft Association Is Now The European Airsoft Federation

In 2009 the leaders of airsoft associations from across Europe joined together to form the European Airsoft Association. We’ve been present ever since, including a period of high activity in 2016 where we were able to steer EU legislation that was set to have tremendous impact on airsoft. Initially we weren’t sure what form the organisation would take, so ‘association’ fitted, as a catch-all description. Eventually we decided that we would elect a President to run the association, and that he would report to a committee made up of representatives from the member associations. The primary aim of the organisation would be to enable the member associations to band together and be represented on the EU level.
This is the structure of a Federation, so it’s been a question for some years as to whether we should change our title to reflect this. I presented to the committee a motion that we change our name to European Airsoft Federation, which they voted unanimously in favour of. We have new branding and we’re in the process of rolling our website and social media over to the new look. We hope you like it.
Our mission is unchanged; to help bind airsoft together across the continent, and protect airsoft at the international level. We’ll keep on doing our best work on your behalf, and we encourage players to support that work by joining their national airsoft association.
I’m very pleased to let you know that we’ve taken on new members this year, AFU of Ukraine joined us in April, and last week we welcomed our latest member, SAKFBiH from Bosnia and Herzegovina. We’re hoping to bring in members from Spain and Slovakia in the coming months. It’s always a happy moment for me when our family grows!
