Luminox and survival realisty host Bear Grylls have teamed in producing a series of outdoor watches bearing the hosts name. Just recently, the released a more eco-friendly versions of the watches with the latest being the Luminox x Bear Grylls Master #tide Chronograph Series.

Timed for Earth Day he Master #tide series use upcycled materials for the materials made in making the watches. To source the materials, they employ Thai fishermen to supply them with plastic bound for the ocean. The 100% recycled materials are used for the case, bezel and strap. The series features Luminox’s own proprietary CARBONOX material, Luminox Light Technology tritium gas tubes provide up to 25 years of self-illumination, and 200 meters of water resistance.

Luminox is a favourite of airsoft players and members of the tactical community due to its build quality and durability. It is also the favored watch of the U.S. Navy SEALs since the company started supplying then in 1992 when it met their requirements. Ever since, the company has been releasing different variations of the SEAL series.

Case, Bezel and Strap in #tide Material Helping to Eliminate Plastic Ocean

Luminox strives to excel in sustainability and the newest collection of watches in partnership with Bear Grylls is the perfect example of their efforts. The Survival Master series uses #tide upcycled plastic from water bottles reclaimed from the ocean for its case, bezel and straps creating a new chronograph, which comes in three dial and strap colorway options: Yellow, Green and Blue. Each of the three models will have a green case and bezel made from the sustainable material with the Bear Grylls logo prominently featured at the 4 o’clock position. The case back of the watch includes Luminox, Bear Grylls and #tide logos to commemorate the collaboration.
