“The Mandalorian” Trailer

Disney will soon launch its own streaming service set to rival the likes of Netflix and Amazon Prime Videos. Called Disney+, the entertainment behemoth is lining up big hitters and since it also owns LucasFilms, it is set to introduce the first Star Wars live action TV series called the “Mandalorian.”

Previously, speculations are rife about an Origins story of Boba Fett as there are plans to have movies on the origins of certain popular Star Wars characters such as Hans Solo (“Solo: A Star Wars Story”). However, “The Mandalorian” will disappoint the fans of the legendary space bounty hunter, as it is not about Boba nor his father Jango (“Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones”).  But before I continue on, you better watch the first official trailer released by Disney:

In a nutshell, this is the description of the series as taken from the trailer's description:

“After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. ‘The Mandalorian’ is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.”

If you think that it is darker “Star Wars” series that is because it is, according to Jon Favreau (“Iron Man”) who is the executive producer for the show who also was behind the photorealistic computer-animated remake of Disney's 1994 hit, “Lion King” in an interview with the Hollywood Reporter. The TV series is to fill the gap between the end of the Empire in “Return of the Jedi” and the rise of the First Order which rose from the ashes of the Empire that is set to destroy the new Republic and introduced in “The Force Awakens.”

The central character of “The Mandalorian” is played by Pedro Pascal, the Chilean-American actor famous for his role as Oberyn Martell in the “Game of Thrones”. The character’s name was not revealed in the trailer, but what Star Wars fans will welcome that it the series is still a traditional Star Wars production, though a bit darker.

“The Mandalorian” is set to stream on the 12th of November 2019. We’ll soon be looking forward to the various prey that the bounty hunter will be putting in Carbonite.

Those few airsoft players might want to dust off their Mandalorian-style “Galac-Tac” armour that they have purchased from Airsoft GI. If you want to buy one, it is out of stock right now, but with the TV series, interest in that armor might soon be rekindled again and it might just be produced by Ryan B. Flowers, the designer behind the armor.
