One must acknowledge that in the world of compact firearms, the pursuit of stability often feels like trying to keep a terrier still during a squirrel sighting—a noble, yet frequently frustrating, endeavour. However, Taurus, got for pistol stabilisation with their latest offering. They’ve decided that sometimes, a little help is in order, leading to the rather official-sounding announcement of the Taurus GX4 Strike Bravo.
This new addition is a sibling in the popular 9mm GX4 family, a line known for its modest dimensions, which are entirely suited for discreet daily carry. Yet, this iteration introduces a twist that’s bound to raise an eyebrow or two amongst the keen shooters. The GX4 Strike Bravo is a collaborative effort, with the guys over at Strike Industries. It’s the sort of partnership that hints at a firearm designed not just for concealment, but for a bit more purposeful precision.
The essence of the Strike Bravo lies in its rather clever reconfiguration. The GX4 Strike Bravo has a specifically engineered chassis and modular grip system developed with their partners at Strike Industries. This design allows the handgun to neatly accommodate the Strike Industries FSA Single Stabilizer. Now, for those who appreciate the subtle difference between 'just about hitting it' and 'actually hitting it,' this stabiliser is rather important.

This folding brace system, once deployed, offers a noticeable boon to the shooter. It manages to provide an improved length of pull and, crucially, greater surface contact. The result? Better control, superior shootability, and dare one say, enhanced precision when stretching the GX4 out to those slightly more challenging distances. Essentially, it transforms the compact GX4 from a pure handgun into something with a touch more backbone and shoulder engagement—all without turning the whole contraption into an unmanageable behemoth. It’s like adding a tailored stock to a pocket pistol, but without the fuss.
Apar from main feature of the stabiliser compatibility, the GX4 Strike Bravo hasn't neglected the essential mod-cons expected by the discerning modern shooter. It comes equipped with the TORO (Taurus Optic Ready Option) Slide, meaning fitting your preferred red-dot sight should be a straightforward affair. A threaded 1/2×28 barrel is standard, a practical feature for those inclined to attach a suppressor for a quieter session at the range, or perhaps an aftermarket muzzle device to manage the muzzle flip.

To further enhance its usefulness, the platform includes a reversible charging handle, allowing the user to set it up for their preferred hand—a small but appreciated ergonomic touch. For the enthusiastic accessoriser, the inclusion of a MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny Rail at the front provides the necessary foundation for attaching lights or lasers. One must have the appropriate illumination for a sudden spot of bother, after all.
A rather sensible decision made by Taurus is full GX4 Platform Compatibility. This means existing owners won't have to fret about rendering their current stash of magazines, basepads, barrels, and accessories obsolete. It’s the sort of consideration that prevents one from having to completely re-kit the spare parts drawer, saving a bit of aggravation and a few quid in the process.

The new Taurus GX4 Strike Bravo represents an interesting strategic move. By blurring the lines between a traditional concealed carry pistol and a more stable, extended-range platform which other competitors are also doing, Taurus is tapping into a market that values the compact footprint but occasionally requires the tactical advantage of a longer, more stable weapon system. It’s the firearm equivalent of a versatile jacket: neat and discreet when buttoned up, but offering serious protection when the weather turns foul.
“The GX4 Strike Bravo is Taurus stepping in a bold new direction,” said Laura Prieto, Marketing Manager in a press release from Taurus USA. “By teaming up with Strike Industries, we didn’t just add a brace — we co-engineered a dedicated chassis and modular grip system to support it. That collaboration created an affordable, compact pistol that offers shooters extra stability, control, and versatility — expanding what they can expect from the GX4 family!”

For those keen to get their hands on this newly stabilised compact, the Taurus GX4 Strike Bravo has been available since 30 September 2025 and can be procured through authorised Taurus dealers in the USA. It might just be the answer for those who appreciate portability but don't wish to compromise on the ability to land a precise shot when it truly matters. Now, if you'll excuse me, I believe there's a kettle calling.
