Tier 1 Citizen Remove Shielding Tape From Your Fiber Optic RMR Tip

According to Tier 1 Citizen, doing such is a good idea... "When I started using the fiber-optic Trijicon RMR variants I was surprised at how effective they were at creating visible aiming dots and or triangles that were just as viable an option as battery operated RMR's.

In the last several years I have fired thousands of rounds, accurately, while using fiber optic driven optics. This also includes magnified optics. I am a firm believer in etched glass optics supplemented by fiber optics and or a 100% fiber optics driven siting system.

In the last year I have completely transitioned over to a Glock 17 equipped with a fiber optics driven RMR04. I have found it to be 100% reliable and accurate. Yes, that includes use at night. However, what I did find was that the tape that I was putting across the top of the optic to dull out the fiber optic bundle kept coming loose because it was constantly rubbing on my clothing while in Concealment. I kept having to go through the process of cleaning off the tape residue then applying a new strip of tape. I finally peeled it off and have found that it doesn't really cause as big a problem as I thought it would. What I'm referring to is the effect known as "blooming." I presumed that blazing sunlight getting into the optic would cause a halo effect around the 7MOA dot. However, what I have discovered is that the size of the dot creates a clean circle that is far more visible and usable than the dot created by battery driven optics. Watch the video, you'll see what I'm talking about."
